Our First BodyBrain Coffee Booth: Skankfest 2025 NOLA recap

Our First BodyBrain Coffee Booth: Skankfest 2025 NOLA recap

Hey guys,

Davey here, the other half of BodyBrain Coffee.

Skankfest 2025 in New Orleans was our first official event as a brand. It was my first time at Skankfest, my first time running a coffee booth and easily one of the most intense weekends of my life in the best way possible.

SKANKFEST AND NEW MILESTONES FOR BODYBRAIN COFFEE
Skankfest wasn’t the launch of BodyBrain Coffee, we were already up and running, but it was the launch of a lot of big milestones for us. By the time we got to New Orleans, we had scaled to a professional 3PL, hit financial milestones that felt impossible a few months ago and were setting up our first official booth.

The Skankfest audience is a huge part of that journey. A lot of people there had not only heard about us, they were there for the presale. All weekend I was meeting people I already knew by name from emails and Instagram DMs. Big shoutout to Butch and everyone else who has been supporting us since the beginning.

GIVING AWAY GOLDEN TICKETS
Skankfest is already special on its own, and getting a golden ticket is even more surreal. As a fan myself, it was really cool to get to give  someone a pair of golden tickets to Skankfest. I kept thinking about how excited I’d be to win something like that, and getting to give that feeling to someone else just felt incredible.

Shoutout to this year’s Golden Ticket winner, David Chandler. We hope you had as much fun as we did.

6,748 CUPS OF COFFEE
From the start, we decided we were not just going to show up and try to sell coffee. We wanted to show appreciation and actually fuel the festival.

So for the entire event we gave away free BodyBrain Coffee.

By the end of the weekend we had served exactly 6,748 cups of coffee, averaging more than 2,000 cups per day. That’s a lot of caffeine, adaptogens, nootropics, and a lot of conversations.
From artist, to staff and fans, we were treated like royalty for keeping everyone fueled all weekend. People brought us free food, merch, anything you could think of, we were offered.

Seeing people come back day after day saying things like “this is the only thing keeping me going right now” made every late night worth it. The entire experience was so surreal and the most fun I've had in my adult life.

THE TEAM BEHIND THE BOOTH
Technically I ran the booth. In reality, my partner Gabby and our friends Carly and Ana are the reason any of this worked.

They were the ones keeping the line moving, talking to people, making sure the coffee tasted right and making the booth a place people actually wanted to hang out at. Without them, this would not have been possible and honestly nobody would have even come to our table.

If you grabbed a cup of BodyBrain Coffee at Skankfest, you probably talked to one of them. They deserve all the credit.

A THANK YOU TO LUIS AND WHAT IS NEXT
None of this exists without my business partner and one of my favorite people in the world, Luis J. Gomez. From the idea to the launch to now serving thousands of cups at his own festival, this has been a wild ride.

With all that being said...
The next Skankfest is still a while away, and we are planning on giving away more than just Skankfest tickets. This holiday season we are giving away multiple PlayStation 5 consoles and a bunch of other prizes. Stay on the lookout because right after Cyber Monday we are launching our holiday giveaway.

We are already excited about next year and we cannot wait to come back to Skankfest, over deliver again and keep earning the support you have been giving us since day one.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the booth, grabbed a cup, took a photo or just said hi.

Once again, thank you all for the support.

One love,
Davey

This is only the beginning.
